Here's an illustration for a science book for Cambridge University Press.  I can't quite recall what was going on in this image, but I think it was to illustrate the point that science usually has a specific, quantifiable result (at least that's what's anticipated), because if it didn't then experiments may result in ducks wandering through the labs.  I'm not sure I've explained that particularly well....
